League rules

No changes after January 1 each season.

This league will be governed by the CARHA rules, with the following exceptions.

Penalties

Abuse of officials will be dealt with severely.

Running the goalie and instigating

Established in 2021–2022: 5 minutes for running the goalie; 5 minutes for instigating.

Slapshots

No higher than waist level. Minor penalty: 3 minutes.

Highsticking

• Player contact: minor or major penalty, at the referee’s judgment.
• Puck contact: minor or major penalty, at the referee’s judgment.
• No contact: minor penalty, at the referee’s judgment.

Fighting

• Game misconduct and an automatic 3-game suspension.
• Offsetting game misconduct penalties null and void associated minor penalties.
• A second fighting penalty results in expulsion for the remainder of the season.
• Goalies fighting results in a 4-game suspension.

Intent to injure

Match penalty and minor penalty and/or suspension.

For spearing or buttending, the player may not resume playing until the executive has reviewed the game to decide what action will be taken.

Penalty lengths

• Minor: 3 minutes running time.
• Major: 5 minutes running time.
• Misconduct: 10 minutes running time.

Two misconducts in one game result in a match penalty.

Three minor penalties result in expulsion from that game.

Game length and lines

Each game has 3 periods of 15 minutes each. The last 2 minutes of the third period are stop time, provided the goal difference is no greater than five.

No centre red line for 2026–2027. Blue lines are used for off-sides and icing.

Team representatives and committees

Each team will have volunteer representatives who help manage team affairs throughout the season.

Committees will govern trades and manage league concerns, pending available volunteers.

Fees and payment

• Minimum payment of $200.00 to start the first game.
• Total cost: $830.00 per player.
• Payment is due in full by the November 18, 2026 game.
• Players who have not paid in full by the deadline will be denied the privilege to play. The total cost then becomes $875.00.
• There is a $25.00 charge for NSF cheques.
